ZERO TO THREE is hiring a full-time, remote Clinical Specialist to support programs focused on babies, toddlers, and their families. The organization has been around since 1977 and works to make sure young children get the strong start they need during those important early years. So what does a Clinical Specialist actually do? In simple terms, this person helps professionals who work with young children and families do their jobs more effectively.
You would provide guidance on individual cases, help lead training and learning sessions, work with teams on topics related to early childhood mental health and substance use, look at program data to see what is working, and build relationships between different organizations that serve children and families. It is a mix of consulting, training, collaboration, and problem-solving rather than a traditional clinical job where you would simply see patients all day.

This could be a great job for a mom who has a background in early childhood, mental health, social work, family services, child welfare, or a related field and wants to use that experience in a bigger-picture role. It may especially appeal to someone who enjoys helping other professionals, leading discussions, solving complicated problems, and connecting people and organizations.
And because it is fully remote within the U.S., it could be attractive to a mom who wants to work from home while still doing meaningful work that directly supports babies, toddlers, and families. This is not really an entry-level social services position. It is better suited to someone who already has professional experience and feels comfortable sharing their knowledge, guiding others, and working with different teams.

Role Overview
The Clinical Specialist provides expertise and support to practitioners working with Infant Toddler Court Program (ITCP) grantees, as well other team members in implementing the Safe Babies or other infant-toddler court approach.
Clinical consultation includes various levels of assistance including (1) clinical case consultation for ITCP sites,
(2) coordination of and facilitation of learning activities related to Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH), dyadic clinical approaches, and substance use disorder (SUD) topics within interdisciplinary learning collaboratives and communities,
3) development and implementation of strategies and experiential activities aimed at enhancing reflective capacity of the NRC team as well as those involved in Safe Babies work within state systems and sites,
(4) use of program data for continuous refinement of delivery of services reflecting IECMH and SUD principles,
(5) relationship building with local and state child-serving partners to create referral protocols, encourage information sharing, and build cross-agency support systems,
(6) remaining current in evidence-based IECMH, SUD interventions and medication assisted therapies (MAT), with particular attention to trauma responsive care in the child welfare context, and
(7) work with local, state, and federal partners to further policies benefiting infants, toddlers, and their families well-being.
