If you want to work for a company that helps families, this is your chance. This is a part-time remote fundraising position and is PERFECT for moms. I share how to apply, what keywords to include, what to expect out of this job, and things you may want to ask the hiring manger about.

I also share what a day-in-the-life looks like for a remote fundraising specialist.

ATS stands for applicant tracking system. Employers use these systems to organize applications, and some use screening criteria to help identify candidates whose experience matches a position.

There is no magic keyword formula that guarantees an interview, but using relevant language from the job posting can help make your qualifications easier to recognize.

For this role, I'd focus on these keywords:

  • Fundraising support

  • Donor relations

  • Donor communication

  • Customer service

  • Telephone communication

  • Email communication

  • Volunteer coordination

  • Event support

  • Campaign outreach

  • Participant engagement

  • Community outreach

  • Contact management

  • Data entry

  • Excel spreadsheets

  • Microsoft Outlook

  • Microsoft Teams

  • Recordkeeping

  • Follow-up communication

  • Time management

  • Attention to detail

Only include terms that match your actual experience.

For example, if you've contacted local businesses to ask for school auction donations, you can describe that as fundraising outreach or sponsor communication if that's what you did.

If you maintained a spreadsheet tracking donations, you can mention contact tracking, data entry, and Excel, assuming you used the program.

And if your experience comes from volunteering rather than employment, that's okay. Just label it honestly. Use the heading "Community Work " or "Volunteer Work."
