As a Copywriter, you’d be doing much more than writing traditional advertising copy. You could brainstorm ideas with the team, write short comedic scripts for social media and sketches, come up with captions and website copy, and help make existing scripts funnier. You’ll also adjust your writing depending on where it’s going. A social media post obviously needs a different voice than website copy or a comedy sketch. You’ll work closely with the team, take feedback, and make revisions while making sure everything fits the company’s or client’s brand.

This role could be especially interesting for a mom with a background in writing, social media, marketing, or comedy who wants to put those skills to work in a creative environment. They’re looking for someone who understands how people actually talk online, has experience writing comedy and branded content, can juggle multiple projects, and can provide writing samples. And there’s room to grow, too. The company says the role could eventually lead to a Creative Director position, making this an opportunity that could turn into something bigger over time.

Role Overview

Comedy For The Internet is looking for Copywriters to provide copy support for Comedy For The Internet assets including website copy, social media posts, and merch, as well as client-facing projects.

Responsibilities:

Brainstorm and develop ideas in a collaborative setting.
Write short-form comedic scripts for sketches and social media.
Tailor copy based on the publication medium (i.e. Social media captions, website copy, comedy sketch).
Punch-up existing script/copy drafts.
Work within Comedy For The Internet and client brand style guidelines to write on-message copy.
Collaborate with the CFTI team to incorporate notes and feedback into revisions.
