You Don't Need Followers to be a Paid Influencer Anymore

You’ve probably been told you need followers to make money online. And if you’re anything like most people I talk to, that alone has already made you feel like it is not for you.
But there’s a whole side of content creation that no one really explains.
It’s called tech UGC and it’s quietly paying people like you to create simple videos for apps, websites, and online tools. Not to grow your own page… not to become an influencer.
You just help brands get more people to download, sign up, or buy. Because at the end of the day, they don’t need someone famous. They need someone REAL.

Someone who can make another person stop and think, “wait… I actually need this.” And that’s where it shifts.
A lot of the work I do now is actually tech UGC. Things like apps, AI tools, or software companies that need simple videos showing how their product works. Most of the time they aren’t looking for influencers. They just want normal people who can make clear tutorials, demos, or walkthrough videos.
When I first started, I found brands through platforms like JoinBrands, Billo, and Upwork. Most people don’t realize this side of the creator world exists because everyone thinks you need followers to make money online.
It’s not about looking a certain way or having a big following. It’s about being relatable enough to create content that converts. I’ve been doing this for 3 years now… and there have been months where this alone brought in over $10k.
But what’s interesting is this: the people who tend to do the best with this.. They’re usually the ones who almost talked themselves out of it because they didn’t think they were “the type.”
From a mom in my group:

Here’s a quick test drive inside the anti influencer method thats helped over 3k introverts make money online (without being in front of their friends and family).
