Job Alert: Part-Time Social Media Manager

Wanted: Social Media Manager

Hiring: Social Media Support for Wishlist Travel Collective

As the owner of a growing boutique travel agency, I’ve done my best to keep up with social media—but between client work, advisor support, and growing our brand, it’s clear: I need help from someone who loves content creation and can keep us consistent, creative, and on-trend.

This role is a perfect fit for a work-from-home mom who understands the juggle, craves a flexible schedule, and enjoys bringing personality and polish to social content.

What You'll Be Doing:

Types of Profiles You’ll Manage:

  • Wishlist Travel Collective’s main Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok accounts

  • Pinterest & newsletters may be added down the line as part of our expanded strategy

  • Help build and maintain Trello boards filled with simple, daily post templates our team of travel advisors can customize and use

Content Creation Requirements:

  • Write engaging captions that reflect our brand voice—smart, approachable, upbeat, and occasionally a little sassy

  • Design high-quality static posts and carousel graphics in Canva (using our brand kit)

  • Edit and build reels/TikToks from provided footage, adding trending audio, eye-catching text overlays, and hook-driven intros

  • Assist with planning story sequences (polls, questions, countdowns, etc.)

  • Streamlining socials for aesthetics

Experience Preferred:

  • Confident creating and writing for social media platforms

  • Strong Canva skills

  • Familiar with growing accounts organically—understanding current trends, engagement strategies, and the metrics that matter

  • A proven track record of account growth is a major plus (please share any relevant examples!)

  • You should have aesthetically pleasing socials of your own (even if personal) that reflect your style and creativity

  • Organized, reliable, responsive, and full of ideas—we’re looking for someone who can take initiative and make our brand shine

Hours Per Week:8–10 hours/week to start, with potential for more as the role expands.

Salary:

This is a paid role. Compensation is flexible and open for discussion based on experience and the structure that works best for both of us—hourly, retainer, or project-based.

How to Apply:

Please email info@wishlisttravelcollective.com with a short introduction and the following:

  • A link to your current social media accounts (personal or professional)

  • Any examples of accounts you’ve helped grow (include before/after stats or timeframes if available)

  • A few sample posts or reels (or a portfolio link, if you have one!)

  • Engagement highlights: Tell us how you've helped boost engagement (likes, comments, saves, shares, or story interactions). What strategies have worked for you?

  • Why you think this role would be a great fit for you

  • Date you're available to start

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Interested in becoming a social media manager?

My Social Media Manager Guide is out! I've been a social media manager since my oldest was a baby. I started because I didn't want to put her in daycare. Frankly, I couldn't afford daycare even if I wanted to! Even with the best job that I would have been able to get with no college degree, it would have not covered daycare fees.

So I decided to become a social media manager. I had no formal training. I just loved posting on Facebook and have always been interested in marketing. I wanted to stay home with my baby girl and that gave me the courage I needed to get started.

Within a few weeks of starting, I was handling the Facebook and Instagram profiles of small businesses in my area and an author. I worked hard to keep my clients happy and it was amazing to get paid every single month while getting to take my baby to the park, eat lunch with her, and just be at home like I'd always dreamed of.

This has paid my bills for 17+ years. I've even done it while homeschooling. You don't need a college degree to do this. Or even high school, really. If you have enough drive and courage, you can be a social media manager. The book is out. If you have any questions, email me at WAHMClubMail@gmail.com.

love, Bunmi
