5 Things I Learned About Being an Anti-Influencer Mom
You'll make it to the degree that you put in effort. There are no real shortcuts. It's hard to hear this because we all want to believe that a program will work for us no matter what, but if I'm not taking small actions every other day at least, nothing will happen. It's the exact same thing as planting a garden, taking care of a house, or taking care of kids. If you don't work on it, things don't move forward and you won't earn anything. But if you do take small actions, you'd be surprised how much they pay off.
You can be a shy-ish mom and do well. Getting my first $850 gig was amazing. I don't have to show my face. If I wanted to show my face I could make much more and do much more when it comes to UGC, but I don't want to. This might change, though.
You have to find the track that works for you. Be honest. Do you really want to create content for brands or are you more of a behind-the-scenes business/virtual assistant type? I love creating content for brands but I also love doing behind the scenes work to support entrepreneurs and authors. The Anti-Influencer Method has a few different tracks and you have to be real about what goes with your comfort level and personality. Don't get stuck on the wrong track based on who you're not. If you want to be a TikTok Shop Affiliate or do Amazon Reviews from your living room, do that!
Not all clients are good clients. This was a tough pill for me to swallow. You don't want to work for everybody. I turned down a $150/week little gig even though it was so easy, like five minutes a day, because I didn't like it. I didn't like the company's product. You're allowed to do that. I've seen chats on TikTok about UGC companies that are offering gigs for companies that make some women uncomfortable. You can turn those down. If you're going down the virtual assistant track, apply the same logic. Nightmare clients make for a nightmare work life.
Keep going. Once you get that first client or land that first gig, keep building and pitching! Don't be afraid. I got my book UGC site up and just finished pitching a client five minutes ago. Everyone in life is making it up. You're qualified for this because you're learning about it. You can ask questions forever hoping to feel ready one day or you can just go for it. I hope you go for it.
These are the different streams. There is a traditional UGC stream coming soon that will teach the same things Tech UGC teaches, but geared toward working with everyday brands!
There is also a quiz to help you figure out which one is best for you.

lots of love, B
