Living Water Cookie Company Faces a Big Baking Dilemna

Chelsea Zeman of Living Water Cookie Co. based out of Naples, Florida recently faced a dilemna. With autumn being right around the corner, she was getting tons of requests to make Halloween and spooky custom cookies.
Sounds like a great problem to have, doesn't it? The issue is that Chelsea is a Christian who has made the personal decision not to celebrate Halloween.
A lot of business owners would be torn when it comes to what to do. In this economy, turning down business isn't considered a "smart" thing to do, even if it goes against your personal beliefs.
But Chelsea decided to stick with her convictions and wrote this on her Facebook page:
"I wanted to make this post because it’s been weighing heavy on my heart, October is right around the corner and I’ve been receiving requests for Halloween cookies so I wanted to clear some things up I pray you all see my heart in this post too.
As a Christian business I want to do everything in my power to glorify the God who has so graciously gifted me with the talents that I have. He has blessed me beyond what I can imagine in saying that I was personally convicted about a year and a half ago to not take on any sets that would go directly against my beliefs. I cannot dabble in darkness and light at the same time and so I made the personal choice to no longer take on any Halloween/scary sets.
I don’t want to invite that into my home but this is not an attack on anyone who still chooses to make them. I have some wonderful cookies friends who I can absolutely recommend you to and I would be happy to do so.
Again this is a personal conviction and many may not share the same and that is completely okay.
I know I will receive some hate on my choices and lose some business but I am 100% certain that this is where God has led me.
For everything else though it would be an honor to be considered for your next special event.

The post ended up going super viral with many pledges of support from Christians who also share Chelsea's convictions!
The lesson here is that when you take a stand for what you believe in, it doesn't always mean your business will go under. Be courageous, stick to who you are, and have a little faith.
